SCELBI Emulator Features and Links

This version of the emulator features support of the following SCELBI features:

  1. Emulation of 8008 processor running at a clock speed of 500 KHertz.  This results in a cycle time of 250 KHertz and execution of about 30,000 instructions per second, matching the performance of a real 500 KHertz 8008.
  2. 4K or 16K Memory Options.  Default setting is 12 SRAM memory and the 4K MEA PROM installed.
    1. 16K Memory Suboptions:
      1. 16K SRAM
      2. 12K SRAM with an optional 4K MEA EPROM. MEA page 76 can be configured with either:
        1. TTY driver (default).
        2. Oscilloscope driver.
    2. 4K Memory
      1. 4K SRAM
      2. 3.75K SRAM, 256 bytes EPROM in page 17. EPROM can be configured with three versions of a minimal monitor that I call MCMON:
        1. Serial  driver - configure terminal for 2400 baud.  The terminal "Auto LF" option should be enabled.  "Output MSB Set" and "Input MSB clear" should be disabled.
        2. Scopewriter driver.
        3. Digital Group video card driver.
  3. SCELBI Front Panel controls.  You must use the front panel to boot the SCELBI computer.  Quick start instructions are provided here.
  4. Cassette interface for reading and writing audio files.  These audio files are compatible with real SCELBI cassette interface hardware.
  5. Teletype emulation with configurable baud rate and auto linefeed settings.  Default setting emulates a 110 baud Teletype with auto linefeed disabled which is compatible with MEA.
  6. SCELBI Oscilloscope/CRT and Keyboard interface emulation.
  7. SCELBI Scopewriter interface emulation.
  8. SCELBI Digital Group video card interface emulation
  9. Direct loading of Intel hex object files into emulated memory.  This features speeds up loading of longer programs, like SCELBAL, a floating point BASIC for the 8008.
